Thanks to an intense musical collaboration, this unusual quintet founded in Lyon in 2014 has developed in a continuous exchange between the music of the West and the East.
Their first programme, When the West Looks to the East, is dedicated to encounters between traditional oriental music (Ottoman, Arabo-Andalusian and Amazigh) and early European music (Renaissance and baroque).
Now, Les Turqueries embark on the creation of a second programme, Abir, made up of original compositions by Thibault Rocheron inspired by traditional oriental music and the language of European counterpoint.
Véronique Bouilloux : baroque violin
Sacha Dessandier-Volkoff : baroque cello, song
Simon Waddell : baroque guitar, théorbo
Léo Fabre-Cartier : oud
Thibaut Rocheron : oriental percussions
